How to help your future Trojan get started
As you navigate your student鈥檚 senior year and look forward to the upcoming freshman year, we recommend that you:
Learn our policies and procedures
Familiarize yourself with admission and financial aid requirements as well as academic majors offered at TROY.
Support them and let them go
Allow your student to make decisions and learn from experience (while remaining on standby for advice).
Let TROY help you, too
Attend the parent session of IMPACT while your student goes through his or her new student orientation.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that affords parents the right to have access to their children鈥檚 education records, the right to seek to have the records amended, and the right to have some control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information from the education records. When a student turns 18 years old, or enters a postsecondary institution at any age, the rights under FERPA transfer from the parents to the student (鈥渆ligible student鈥). The FERPA statute is found at 20 U.S.C. 搂 1232g and the FERPA regulations are found at 34 CFR Part 99. ()

- In order to comply with FERPA and receive information regarding your student鈥檚 academics, finances, etc, a completed Student Consent Form must be on file for your student.
